This Privacy Policy describes how Brightways Wholesalers ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from www.brightways.in, or when you use the official Brightways Android mobile application.
This policy applies equally to our website and to our Android app. The app provides access to the same store, so every reference to "the Site" below includes the mobile application.
What personal information we collect
Device information
When you visit the Site we automatically collect certain information about your device, including your web browser type, IP address, time zone, and the cookies installed on your device. As you browse, we also collect information about the pages and products you view, the site or search term that referred you to us, and how you interact with the Site.
We collect this information using the following technologies, and no others:
- Cookies — small data files placed on your device, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. We use them to keep you signed in, to remember what is in your cart, and to keep your session secure.
- Log files — which record activity on the Site, including IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, and date and time stamps.
- A self-hosted visitor statistics tool — this runs on our own server. The data is not shared with any third-party analytics provider.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising, retargeting or behavioural-tracking service on this Site.
Order information
When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email address and phone number.
Payment information
We accept Cash on Delivery, and online payment by UPI, credit card, debit card and net banking. Online payments are processed by our payment gateway provider, PayU. Your card, UPI and net-banking details are collected and processed directly by PayU and are never stored on our servers. You can read PayU's privacy policy at payu.in/privacy-policy.
Account information
If you create an account, we store your name, email address, phone number, saved delivery addresses, wishlist and order history.
Where this policy refers to "Personal Information", it means both Device Information and Order Information.
How we use your personal information
We use Order Information to fulfil the orders you place through the Site — processing your payment, arranging delivery, and sending you invoices and order confirmations.
We also use Order Information to:
- Communicate with you about your order
- Screen orders for potential risk or fraud
- Send you information about our products and offers, where you have agreed to receive it
We use Device Information to screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular your IP address), and to improve and optimise the Site.
By submitting your details you authorise Brightways to contact you by phone, SMS, RCS, WhatsApp or email regarding your order and, where you have agreed to it, for promotional purposes. You can opt out of promotional messages at any time by emailing johnsonbrightways@gmail.com. Opting out of promotional messages does not stop essential messages about an order you have already placed.
Sharing your personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary:
- PayU, our payment gateway, to process online payments
- Delivery partners, who receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver your order
- Legal authorities, where we are required to comply with applicable law, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request, or to protect our rights
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information. These include SSL/HTTPS encryption across the entire Site, restricted staff access to order information, and payment processing handled entirely by our payment gateway, so that card and UPI details never reach our servers.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct, update or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. To do so, email johnsonbrightways@gmail.com.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you additionally have the right to object to processing, to request restriction of processing, and to data portability. We process your information to fulfil the contract we have with you when you place an order, and to pursue the legitimate business interests described above.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our legal obligations.
- Account information is kept while your account is open, and is deleted when you ask us to close it.
- Order and invoice records are kept for up to 8 years after the order, as required by Indian tax and accounting law. These are retained solely for legal compliance and are never used for marketing.
- Payment transaction records are held by PayU under their own retention policy.
Children's privacy
Our Site and mobile application are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at johnsonbrightways@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
